Allan Aasbjerg Nielsen, M.Sc. 1978, Department of Electrophysics, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Ph.D. 1994, Informatics an Mathematical Modelling (IMM), DTU. Since 2007 employed as Assiciate Professor with the National Space Intitute's section for geodesy. Worked at the Danish Defense Research Establishment 1977-1978 and with energy conservation in housing at the Thermal Insulation Laboratory, DTU 1978-1985. 1985-2001 he worked at the section for image analysis at IMM, 1995-2001 as a part time substitute for prorector, Professor Knut Conradsen. 2001-2006 he worked as Associtate Professor with the section for geoinformatics at IMM. In 2006 he spent a six months sabbatical leave with the University of Oxford, Department of Statistics. He has worked on many national and international projecs on development, implementation and application of statistical methods and remote sensing/Earth observation in mineral exploration, mapping, geology, agriculture, environmental monitoring, oceanography, geodesy and security. These projecs have been funded by industry, the European Union, Danida og the Danish National Research Councils.
