François Anton is an Associate Professor at the Research Division of Geodesy at the National Space Institute (DTU Space). He moved from the research group on Computer Graphics and Image Analysis of DTU Informatics.

He has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia (U.B.C., Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada).

After defending his Ph. D. thesis titled "Voronoi diagrams of semi-algebraic sets", François Anton started an Alberta Ingenuity Fund Fellowship in Computer Graphics (implicit modelling with semi-algebraic sets) at the Laboratory of Visual and Interactive Computing (VIC) in the Department of Computer Science, University of Calgary (Alberta, Canada).

During this post-doctoral fellowship, he proposed, created and taught a new hybrid (undergraduate/graduate) course on spatial databases at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Calgary.

He has worked extensively with generalised Voronoi diagrams and Delaunay graphs and their applications to photogrammetry, spatial databases and object reconstruction. François Anton's research interests include photogrammetry, computational geometry, interval analysis, computational algebra, computational algebraic geometry, computer graphics, image reconstruction, spatial databases and GIS.

Please note that the course 02288 Advanced Databases has been renumbered: it is now 30535 Advanced Databases.
