SCIENTIFIC EXPERIENCE
Studied plasma physics of active electron beam experiments during a 10-year period at US universities. Worked on small-scale electric currents in the upper atmosphere using Ørsted satellite data, and expanded into the field of electrical discharges in the upper atmosphere. Developed a 3D particle code for studies of plasma phenomena (with Prof. Buneman, Stanford University). Has expanded the code to include collisions (with Olivier Chanrion, DNSC). Has studied plasma instabilities and electrical discharges by means of 3D particle simulations. Has published more than 100 technical publications. Current interests are focused on the studies of electrical discharges in the upper atmosphere. |
