Sea Level CCI

The main objective of the sea level CCI project is to produce and validate a Sea Level Essential Climate Variable (ECV) product. It represents the first phase of the ESA Climate Change Initiative program that aims at setting up in a second phase an "operational processing capacity of Earth Observation data"

DTU’s contribution:

DTU contributes to improve sea level estimation at high latitude for studies of regional and global sea level variations, through

1: Data editing in particularly ice covered regions

2: Develop algorithm for seasonal sea level variation for improved  determination of i.e., mean sea surface

3: Develop methods for use of ice concentration for improved determination of sea level under moderate ice concentrations

4: Develop sea level climatic variables such as mean sea surface and sea level trend parameters at high latitudes
