Research centre reaches key milestones on the road to improved sea-level rise projections

After three years of operation, the Center for Ice-Sheet and Sea-Level Predictions (CISP), based at DTU, has developed a new baseline model of the Greenland Ice Sheet while also producing a number of scientific publications.

Facts

  • DTU Space is active across a wide range of research and technology fields in the Arctic, particularly in Greenland. These include research into sea ice, the Greenland Ice Sheet and glaciers, and sea level in response to melting ice. The work is based on field studies and data collected from monitoring stations on the ice, as well as measurements and observations from aircraft and satellites. To a lesser degree the institute is also active in Antarctica.

  • DTU Space also provides advisory services, contributions to education, research and monitoring relevant to defence, search and rescue, and security in Greenland and the Arctic. In addition, the institute is involved in traditional space research in the region, including work related to the Greenland Telescope.
